Welcome to Mamastay Healthy, a blog about Honest Motherhood. This blog was created with the intention of sharing with you the honest, unfiltered and the non-sugar coated side of Motherhood: the chaos, the beauty and the blowouts.
As a mom, health coach, and self-care advocate I am here not only to share mom hacks, practical solutions and the unfiltered moments to your everyday mom life, but also to support, empower, encourage, and lift you up. Why? Because let’s be honest, we all need it. I believe that the best gift you can give to another mom is your honest experience about motherhood, so this space is my gift to you.
The story of who I am begins in a small town in Mexico right next to the Gulf called Tampico. As a kid, I was taught not to talk about certain topics or refrain from them. At times I felt lost; direction was nowhere to be found. The belief that I would be shamed when I would ask something that I shouldn’t gave me anxiety. I was taught that what people thought about me should always come before speaking or acting. Which is the exact opposite of how I want you to feel on here.
It’s interesting how life can shut down a child’s curiosity and spark. This is what happened as I was growing up. Even though I was judged by others and felt ashamed of myself, that didn’t change my curious mind. That’s one of the reasons I love to write and share these honest, real experiences that Motherhood has brought to life. I know how hard it is sometimes to be vulnerable and to not talk about things that we should really talk about.
In this space, I want you to feel like I’m walking with you on your motherhood journey. You can ask me anything you want- there are no silly questions. Let’s break taboos and give voice to unspoken truths about Motherhood. Remember that being a perfect mom does not exist but being a happy one? Hell yes!
My intention is that you lose the mom guilt (which is a REAL thing btw) and loosen up on the expectations of being a mother so you can feel like your best self. Going at your own pace is essential on this journey. Remember that motherhood is not a race. Stay humble, ask for support and always love yourself. Keep in mind that we are not here to know everything, but we are here to learn.
On this blog, I am sharing my personal story of what has worked and currently still works for me, in hopes that it will make it easier for you; sharing with you what I wish someone would have shared with me. The joys, the excitement, the wonders, the failures, the products, the experience, the unknowns, the lessons learned and the tears. All of it.
In this space you are safe, mama. You’ve come to the right place. I will go above and beyond to provide you with information that will set you up to thrive (if you chose it to be this way, of course). You may be sleep deprived, angry, feeling frustrated, like you are losing it, depressed, hungry, stressed, anxious, in denial of your new reality, but I am here to tell you that it will all be okay but most importantly you’ve got this! Regardless of where you are in your journey, you are already doing amazing!
